The Red Lion has recently been restored after a fire engulfed the building, parts of which date from Tudor times and is a Grade II listed building. The pub is owned and run by Mike and Vivien Harrington who have a great deal of experience with 30 years’ experience in the trade.

As a listed building it has been beautifully restored to its former glory, and will include an extended dining area offering traditional English food, the ingredients of which will be sourced, as far as is possible, from within a five mile radius”, says Mike.

“We have worked very closely with conservation staff at Canterbury Council to ensure that the building, part of which dates from the 1580s, is perfectly restored, with great attention to period detail.

“During the work a Tudor dovecote was uncovered, which has been preserved and incorporated into the new building. The pub also includes later Victorian additions and a striking Georgian façade which makes this a real ‘landmark’ pub in the area”.

The Red Lion Inn has a large garden at the rear and parking is also available for patrons.
